Fishtank Agency shortlisted for Creative Pool 2018 Awards

Valentine’s Day was great, but the best present arrived at Fishtank the day after…

We’ve been shortlisted for the Creative Pool Web Award (again! yay!!) for one of our latest projects: Just Voices Agency website.

You can read about this exciting project below, but before you set off on this literary roller-coaster with a dramatic backstory and captivating characters, could you do us a favour and vote for Fishtank Agency?

Voting closes on 23:59GMT on 23rd February so please vote generously!

The client:
Simon Lenagan and Leigh Matty founded Just Voices agency in 2005. Simon is a successful actor and has worked in the film and TV industry for over 20 years. Leigh started her career as a singer in the rock band Romeo’s Daughter who enjoyed success writing, recording, & touring worldwide in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Over the past 12 years, Simon and Leigh have grown Just Voices to become very highly regarded in the industry for their representation of high profile actors and actresses, presenters and professional voice over artists all over the world.

The brief:
Simon and Leigh tasked us to create a unique, impactful and easily navigated website where their portfolio of clients could be showcased to the highest standard. Their previous website was very hard to navigate, lacked the reflection of their brand and industry focus. Their main objective was to develop and create the best user experience where they could easy search, compare and select their chosen artists with minimal effort.

The Process:
We used Perch for the CMS for the entirely bespoke design and build, where the website can be constantly updated with new portfolio clients, industry news and features with the greatest ease. With the end user always in mind, we delivered a solution that works seamlessly and responsively across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

The layout is striking, impactful and easily navigated meeting Simon and Leigh’s overall objective to showcase their portfolio of high profile actors and actresses. They also wanted to enable the end user to listen to any number of audio clips with the least amount of clicks possible. The design reflects the updated brand style which is mirrored across all other Just Voices marketing collateral.

Fantastic project to work on, the Just Voices website nomination is a great opportunity to thank the agency and all our other clients past and present for voting for us last year, motivating us to push even further and allowing us to keep on creating industry leading digital platforms.

Don’t forget – voting runs until 23:59GMT on the 23rd February 2018

And the winner is…

Well done to everyone else who participated in our quiz – we hope you enjoyed it just as much as we liked creating it. As for the answers? Well. Although absolutely no one had Joe down as a straight tea drinker, I’m left wondering – how did everyone know I still believe in Santa?…

We’ve made a move this year… What about YOU?

We’ve got a special treat for you this year – a gift that ensures you’re always on the move, keeping up to your New Year resolutions. A sleek new FitBit Alta could be yours this January if it turns out you know us well!

Fishtank is moving!

We cannot contain the excitement anymore and just have to share the exciting news…

Fishtank is moving to a new office very soon!

Worry not though – we’re not leaving Mirfield. We only moving across town, into the 1812 building within Wheatley Park. It’s work in progress at the moment, but expect an invite to the launch party at the beginning of the New Year!

Due to the move, next Friday (27th October) we will have to disconnect our office phone – fear not, you can still email us though! Everything will be back to normal on Monday 30th October, but if you have any questions regarding the office move and the implications on our day to day work please don’t hesitate to reach out.

The 1812 building is a beautiful stone-built former textile mill located in stunning rural area of Mirfield. The nearby canal and the vividly green surroundings are the perfect new setting for Team Fishtank. We’re sure the new setting will boost creativity and productivity even further – and if that fails we’ll just turn to the new office beer fridge.

In the meantime, feel free to browse our social media channels to track our journey!

Welcoming Mike to the Fishtank Team

Hey, I’m Michael and I’ve just joined Fishtank where I’ll be leading their digital/web offering as Senior Frontend Developer. I am looking forward to my future working with the team here and with clients old and new.

Having been working in a large full-service agency in Leeds for the past 3 years I decided to make the move to Fishtank after seeing the new and exciting challenges that Fishtank and the role has to offer.

I began my interest, and later my career, in web development over 11 years ago whilst playing drums in a metal band where (here’s a tell of my age) I found myself re-skinning my band and other bands MySpace accounts. Fortunately, when my teenage dream of becoming the next Metallica didn’t happen, I found my true calling in web development.

After university I was asked to go back to the company I completed a year’s placement at while studying and in the time since, I have honed my craft in modern web development using a popular CMS platform many other development languages.

But all work and no play makes Michael a dull boy and so outside of work I still have an interest in playing music but most of all I am embracing family life having a 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son. Between standing on lego bricks and explaining why you need to eat your broccoli I enjoy watching anything Sci-Fi and going to see live bands.

Fishtank is my new home and I’m looking forward to getting to stuck in so if you need help with an existing website or if you’re interested in starting a new project with us, get in touch…

Name: Michael Garlick

Job title: Senior Web Developer

Interests: Sci-Fi, coffee and Real Ale

Welcoming Gemma to the Fishtank Team

I’m two and a half months into my role at Fishtank and what a two and a half months it has been – never a dull moment working on various different projects, sometimes all at once, and I have enjoyed every minute!

No two days are the same – one minute we’re on a conference call with our clients in the US discussing up and coming projects and the next we are scoping a new website with a small, local, family run business, all the time working with a very talented bunch here at Fishtank Agency (they paid me to say that!)

I come from a strong agency background with vast experience of working in both B2B and B2C markets, so I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role of Senior Account Manager. My key focus is supporting and working with our clients to help deliver marketing solutions tailored to their objectives and requirements but also supporting Damien with the growth of Fishtank and our own strategy and business objectives.

We really do have wonderful clients, we feel like part of their team, there are no barriers to how we work together which is refreshing to see and our clients respond well to our approach to work.

There are some exciting times ahead for Fishtank and I am thrilled to be part of the team to enjoy them.

Name: Gemma Curry
Job title: Senior Account Manager

Welcoming Ola to the Fishtank Team

My name is Ola and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Account Manager for Fishtank Agency. Coming straight from a world of pharmaceuticals, engineering and corporate marketing I have arrived to assist you in your most exciting projects, to support your print and digital requirements every step of the way and to advise your teams as and when necessary.
