At Fishtank Creative, we favour Perch over all other Content Management Systems. Why? Perch is easy to integrate into truly bespoke websites whilst being ultra-lightweight, powerful and highly flexible.
What is a CMS?
A CMS is a content management system. You may have heard of CMS platforms such as Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal. A CMS allows you to add and edit site content without having to delve into the code. So think about when you add a new Facebook profile picture or post a status update, that’s a content management system in action.
Perch is a lightweight and flexible CMS. It’s perfect for when our clients need to edit content without the hassle that comes with setting up a large complex CMS. We first started using Perch in 2010 and we have watched it grow into a fully featured CMS while still keeping to their founding principles of “keeping things simple”.
Easy To Use
Whilst it’s great for us to build with, Perch also provides an easy-to-use user interface for you to manage, update and change content on your site without needing any coding or expert knowledge. This allows you to post fresh content and news on your site whenever it suits you with the click of a button.
For clients, Perch is a great system that keeps your costs low and anyone can learn how to use it! We already have so many of our past and present clients using Perch and they’ve all found it truly easy to use. We’ll initially show you how to use it and can help where needed, but we’re confident you’ll fly with it.
Through Perch you have the option to control who has access to what on your website, which is especially brilliant for larger organisation. This means you can not only create sections for colleagues and departments, but even special access areas in your site for clients and customers.
Perch can manage everything from events, blogs, galleries, enquiry forms and now, shops!
If you’re interested in finding out more about our favourite little CMS or want to purchase your own licence, then why not stop by the Perch website.
